Sep. 5, 2008 (China Knowledge) - Sweden-based Ikea Group Co. Ltd, one of the world’s largest home furniture retailers, said its Nanjing Ikea store, which involves a total investment of US$54 million, was formally opened last week. Ikea Nanjing store is reportedly the largest Ikea’s outlet in China. Located at the Nanjing Kazimen Square, the new store covers an area of 60,000 square meters, including 65 sample rooms, a 2,512 square meter restaurant, a children’s room and parking lots at basement 1 and first floor. With the opening of the Nanjing store, the Swedish furniture retailer has six stores in mainland China, with the other five in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Shenzhen respectively. The company also plans to open another store in Shanghai and expand to North China’s Dalian and Shenyang in the near future. |
